ペルー国家競争・知的所有権保護庁（INDECOPI）は、EUIPO（欧州連合知的財産庁）の商標に関する商品・役務分類ツールであるTMclassに59番目の国として参加した。TMclassは、商標の商品・役務データベースとしては世界最大で約65,000の用語が盛り込まれており、日本語を含め約40の言語で検索、翻訳ができる。
（全文） PERU JOINS INTERNATIONAL DATA BASE TMClass
Through an agreement of understanding concluded with the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union (EUIPO), the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) has joined the international data base TMClass. In this way Peru becomes the 59th country to join this database.
TMclass is the largest database in the world in matters of classification of trademarks, contains approximately 65,000 terms already validated in 23 languages of the EU, which allows the user to classify in a fast and easy way, products and services for its consignment in the registration applications of Distinctive Signs.
Tmclass aims to achieve a common classification practice among the participating offices, in order to ensure that the user is presented with a single list of products and services in all languages, as well as applying a unique method of classification practice, accepting and rejecting likewise lists products and services, and since accepting and refusing, in the same way, the lists of products and services.
It is noteworthy that all the information has been previously approved by the Intellectual Property Office of the EU and OAMI.
This tool is the result of a valuable initiative by EUIPO along with other offices of Distinctive Signs in the world, in order to expedite the process of trademark registrations and patents.
